My wish for you is every good thing

Hello, how are you? Today I am playing with a new stamp which I received as a birthday gift from a friend - MFT Fairy Best Friend Stamp. It is a lovely set with little fairies and flowers, and the most lovely sentiment. As they are small I immediately thought of using them on artist trading coins, as I make a lot of coins to swap.

If anyone is new to the coins, I thought I would write the details on how to make them, or at least how I make them!

Artist trading coins are always a 2.5 inch circle. You can choose what to cut it from, a lot of people recycle  food packaging which is a wonderful idea. I usually like to watercolour mine so I cut them from watercolour  paper. I am hopeless at keeping the backs clean so I use regular card to cut another circle to go on the back.

On the back of the stamps you write your name, date, the title of your coin and the number of how many you have made. If you made 3 you would write 1 of 3, 2 of 3 etc. There are several stamps available which are made especially to stamp on the back of coins, but you can easily write all the information  yourself.

I began by water colouring a background, but of course you could use any medium. I love the sentiment “My Wish For You Is Every Good Thing” I stamped and then embossed it.

I then stamped some of the flowers from the set around the edges of the coin, and used glitter gelly pens to colour them.

After stamping and water colouring, I fussy cut the cute fairies, not forgetting to add magical glitter their wings. I adhered them to the coins using  3D sticky pads. You can use any theme to create your coins, the possibilities are endless.

They are now all ready for me to swap, I have made some inchies using this stamp set too.

I hope these little details have been helpful to anyone new to making coins.
Thank you so much for visiitng. Take care and stay safe xx

Disabled abuse is not ok.

Hello how are you today? I am not sure what has happened to the summer, we had a few nice sunny days in July, but now we seem to have descended into Autumn.
Today I am sharing a picture, I am not sure if it will be a large card or a picture to put on the wall.

I began by cutting  a 17.78cm square from a watercolour sheet, I used a pale yellow wash all over, followed by yellow and lemon brushos on the edges. I somehow managed to get a bit of an orange blob onto it, but it doesn’t look too bad and I will cover it up later. I stamped and clear embossed  honeycomb from Artistic Stamper around the edges.

I drew my silhouette ( not exactly wonderfully) and die cut it. It does not die cut very well at a smaller size. I think because the spokes on the wheel are so delicate. I have cut out a few if any of my crafty friends  would like one please contact me.

I stamped bees from Indigoblu and Artistic stamper, after water colouring them, I clear embossed their little bodies, and added glitter to their wings. We have had a lot of bumble bees in our garden this year, which is lovely.

I stamped and fussy cut a selection of flowers and leaves, all of them were water coloured and fussy cut. I used black stickles in the centre of some, and a clear beads on the centre of others. I slightly shaped some of the flowers and leaves (after I took this photo).

I used  decoupage pads to adhere my silhouette, words, flowers, and added a few gems, and sequins too.
I finished by edging the picture with black.

Stay safe xx

Christmas in July

Hello, and thank you for visiting, I hope you are keeping safe and well. Wishing  England lots of good luck in the Euro football final this weekend.
Christmas in July seems to be very popular, I love Christmas but July emmm…  not so sure, but it’s good  to get a head start. So I’ve made a Snowman Christmas/Winter card especially for Lost Coast Christmas in July Challenge and Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

I created a background with water colours, and also coloured the snowman  using the  same medium. I stamped the image twice and fussy cut the holly  and carrot nose and decoupaged them onto the snowman. I used white acrylic paint to colour  the snow drips and sprinkled it with white glitter. I finished by clear embossing his/her eyes, and I also embossed the sentiment.

Stay safe, covid cases are sadly increasing every day xx

The Brightest Star

Hello, I hope all is well with you. Today I am sharing a picture  which I created for the following challenges, Countryview Challenge Stencil, and Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge

I am not sure if I will make it into a card or just keep it as picture to put on my wall. A friend sent me some of Tracey’s lovely stamped images. I used watercolours before  fussy cutting  them and  adhering with sticky pads. I created the background with Brushos, regular watercolours, lots of glitter and stencilled in a few stars.

Stay safe, not to sure about all of the Covid restrictions being lifted in England.  Those  of us who are disabled and ill will probably have to continue to stay in. xx

Fairy Flowers

Hello, I hope all is well with you. I’m continuing to stay home apart from attending medical appointments. It is very worrying times isn’t it. Thank goodness for crafting, it has always helped me with my health and disability problems, and it is keeping me going now.

I was thrilled to see that Chocolate Baroque are running a new challenge, they have taken over from the Penny Black Challenge. This months challenge theme is Wings.I have a lovely hanging flowers CB stamp, so I decided to use it along with a gorgeous fairy stamp and butterflies. I used my favourite watercolours, and lots of glitter for my card. Glitter just never seems to show in photos, no matter what contortions you do!

Thank you so much for visiting, and please stay safe xx

Courage Dear Heart

What can I say, we are all fearful at the moment, and those of us who are ill and disabled are even more so. I was originally going to make an Easter Wreath  for Calico Craft Parts this month, but I quickly decided we all needed a little encouragement, so I created this plaque. Please visit Calico Craft Parts to discover more.

I am now quarantined at home for my safety, with all the consequential difficulties. But we will get through.

All we can do is to continue to hope, and do everything we are asked to do by our Government.

Hugs xxx

Bah Humbug

This is most definitely not my own sentiment! I have made this for some one who is a real Bah Humbug person. I used a Christmas Carol stamp set, and stamped out the houses and Mr Scrooge, and coloured them all before fussy cutting and adhering them to my prepared canvas. I found an old fashioned lamp stamp too, and just in case things were not gloomy enough I added in Eeyore!

I generously used texture paste smothered with fine glitter for snow, and added a small twig as a tree. After stamping and colouring some holly leaves at the top of the canvas, I flicked white acrylic paint over the scene as falling snow. Of course I did not forget to add the large Bah Humbug sign to the tree!

Thank you for visiting xx

Star Of Wonder

I have made this canvas for a friend, who lives opposite the golf club, so he often has foxes visiitng him. One winter he took many photos of a fox happily playing in the snow outside his house. So I tried to recreate that scene for this canvas.

I used a wood fox from Calico Craft Parts, and painted him with acrylics, and added a fluffy tail from some needle felting wool. A brick stencil was useful to suggest his house, and texture paste covered with glitter worked as snow. I also added a some twigs and trees, and my finishing touch was to add battery operated lights.

Thank you for visiting me today, how is  your Christmas crafting going. xx

Snowman Scenic Square

I have been busy creating a half dozen of these adorable scenic boxes. Before assembling the mdf pieces
I painted them and then added a coat of crackle.Sitting happily inside this one you can find a snowman or snowlady, a snowflake, both painted and decorated. Some dried elements, flowers pine cone etc, and some sumptuous  pink berries.
I also used mini polystyrene balls, and oh my goodness they went absolutely everywhere! I think I will still be finding them at Easter!

Fairy Bubbles

I was wheeling through the forest yesterday and I saw some little bubbles sparkling in the distance.I wonder where they were coming from.....

I added lots of glitter, and glossy accents on the bubbles, not sure if they show up very well in the photo.

I used Lavinia Stamps and Die cuts to create this card and lots of watercolours!

Thank you for visiting today, Fairy Hugs xx

Snowflakes Glistening

This a quick card I made this afternoon, using Indigoblu Winterland Wood stamp set. I love this stamp set as there are endless pictures and decorations you can make with it.The sentiment is from their Sparkle and Glisten Set.

My Sparkle and Glisten Box made with this set had a little picture in the currant Papercrafter Magazine. Unfortunately the ladies picture next to it was not me, so I hope she doesn't mind!

Let It Snow

The main image is by Crafty Individuals, I chose this stamp after I was luckily chosen as winner in one of their challenges.

I stamped and water coloured the images. I fussy cut them out and detached the umbrella from the children. I made a snowy background with Watercolours and adhered the children to the texture paste and glitter snow. I used foam pads to hold the umbrella in place to gave it some depth. The Let it Snow stamp is from IndigoBlu's stamp set Sparkle and Glisten

Christmas Gift Box

I have a rather large pile of boxes because they maybe useful one day! I have actually used one of those boxes to make a little 3 inch square gift box.

I painted the box pink, and stamped tiny snowflakes on the sides of the lid. The scene on the top was created with watercolours and glitter, and a lovely set of Forest Magic Stamps.

Thank you so much for visiting, I hope to see you again soon!

Alice In Winterland

In the winter, Wonderland becomes Winterland, and Alice loves to walk in the snowy forest.

I painted the top of my 20cm (8inch) canvas with Iced Gem paint, and randomly painted on Snow White metallic paint on the bottom. I used the star stencil and Slap it On to add some raised stars to the top of the canvas and also painted those pink.

I used Archival Olive Ink pad to stamp the trees from the Winterland wood stamp set. I stamped the two distance trees without reinking the stamp, so it gave a more faded and distant look. I used white paint to add snow to the trees which was followed by flitterglu and white glitter.

I stamped and coloured Alice from the Indigoblu Alice stamp set, and stamped the bunnies in black Archival from the Winterland set. I fussy cut them all out and adhered them to the canvas.

I spread glass bead gel medium to the bottom of the canvas to give some glistening texture to the snow. When it was dry, I lightly added white paint to some areas.

I Die cut some snowflakes and stars in various sizes and covered them in Flitterglu and white glitter. I adhered them to the top of the canvas using sticky foam pads.

Thank you so much for visiting, I hope to see you again soon.
