Classic Pooh Birthday Card

Hello how are you today? I haven’t been crafting for a while as I’ve had two unexpected operations this year. I have a biopsy next week, and I hope that will be it for a while. Today I am sharing a Classic Pooh card. I love E.H.Shepards original drawings in the Pooh books and these stamps have been inspired by his wonderful art work.

I water coloured the map and used a uni pin fine line pen to add detail. The map is based on Ashdown Forest where all of  the Pooh stories were set.  I also water coloured and fussy cut Pooh, and added some glossy accents to his beloved honey flowing out of  the honey pot which he is lovingly clinging on to.I also managed to use up some of my large pile of pretty patterned papers as a mount 😁

I will finish with this photo taken in the Ashdown Forest some years ago, I am looking towards Gills Lap known as “The Enchanted Place “ in the Pooh books.

Thank you so much for visiting, wishing you sunny & happy days xx

Always By My Side

I haven’t been crafting for  a while as I have been unwell, with a dreaded trip to A&E, but the Covid precautions were very good. Today I am sharing another card made with one of my hand drawn die cuts and a cute Mouse stamp from one of Tracy Easson fabulous stamp sets called Just A Girl and Her Forever Friend.

I used watercolours to create the background, and a circle stencil on the top of the card. I drew and fussy cut some heart balloons to tie to the wheelchair.  The sentiment also comes from a variety of Tracy Easson  stamp sets.

Today is world Sepsis day, and September is Sepsis month. I have had septicaemia 3 times, the first 2 times were very serious, and I nearly died. The second time I was even discharged from hospital with all the symptoms of  septicaemia, and I had to be rushed back in hours later by which time I was unconscious. So many people including Drs are not aware of Sepsis and it’s symptoms. It is very serious, and can leave permanent damage.  Be Sepsis Aware #WorldSepsisDay

Thank you for visiting, and please Stay safe xx

The Brightest Star

Hello, I hope all is well with you. Today I am sharing a picture  which I created for the following challenges, Countryview Challenge Stencil, and Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge

I am not sure if I will make it into a card or just keep it as picture to put on my wall. A friend sent me some of Tracey’s lovely stamped images. I used watercolours before  fussy cutting  them and  adhering with sticky pads. I created the background with Brushos, regular watercolours, lots of glitter and stencilled in a few stars.

Stay safe, not to sure about all of the Covid restrictions being lifted in England.  Those  of us who are disabled and ill will probably have to continue to stay in. xx

A Good Hare Day!

Hello how are you? I recently decided to treat myself to this lovely stamp set. I love hares, and this one seems to look as if he has a rather mischievous little character. I am sure I will be using him a lot.

As always I water coloured everything, and this time  I also did a lot of masking for the toadstools etc.

Please Stay safe this new Indian variant seems a real worry. xx

Be Kind

Hello, I hope you are keeping warm and safe during these snowstorms. It does look so pretty when you know you don’t have to go out in it !

I have been keeping myself busy and trying to distract myself from the covid-19 nightmare by creating for several challenges. It is shortly coming up for a year since I have been staying home. Who could have ever imagined it would go on for so long, with so many precious lives lost.

For this card I used  the lovely new stamps by Tracey Easson, and coloured them with watercolours. I used a combination of watercolours and Brushos to create the background.

Fairy Friend

Hello, how are you today? I’m continuing to stay safe and staying home. I am really missing going out, and it is sometimes difficult to work out what day it is!

For my birthday last month I received a new Fairy stamp, and this was my first play with it. I used watercolours, brushos, and added some beads in her hair. There is also oodles of glitter on this picture, but of course it doesn’t show up in the photo.

I am thinking about starting Christmas cards next, but I’ve no idea what I am going to do yet.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please stay safe xx

Rainbow Bridge

Hello I hope all is well with you today. I’ve ventured outside of my home just three times since March and that was only for much needed  medical appointments. I certainly miss going out. It is difficult to see an end to all of this isn’t it.
Today I am sharing a Rainbow Bridge card which was going to be published in the July issue of Craft Stamper, but sadly the magazine has now closed down. I thought I would still share the card  as Pet Loss is a subject very close to my heart, and it may bring some comfort to someone xx

Take care and please stay safe xx

Sunflowers

Hello how are you, during this very different Summer? Ive not been out since early March when my dr  called me and told me to stay home. So when the weather has been nice enough I have been spending my summer in the garden. Our sunflowers are my inspiration for this card.

I stamped my lovely little girl approximately halfway up the slimline card, and fussy cut around her top part and then cut straight across the card. After water colouring the inside of the card which would now be visible, I water coloured the little girl and the remaining  part of the front of the slim card. She is carrying sunflowers, but you can never have too many sunflowers, so I die cut some more in plain white card and water coloured them. I adhered some to the inside of the card, and also some on the front of the card.

Thank you for visiting, please stay safe xx

Happy Easter Weekend

I would like to wish my crafty friends a wonderfully happy and healthy long Easter weekend. I still have some polystyrene eggs to somehow decorate before tomorrow, but I have managed to make a few Hare cards using the  beautiful new Hare die by Creative Expressions

I am thrilled to say that my Spring Scene frame is in the May issue of Crafts Beautiful magazine! They have sent me  a huge and very generous package of Hunkydory goodies. To share the joy I will add some of the goodies to my next blog giveaway which I will be doing sometime soon.

Not long to the craft show at Alexandra Palace, sadly Indigoblu are not going to be there, so I won’t get my hug : (  but it will still be wonderful to meet everyone else. Just hope I will be ok on the day to go ..

Indigoblu Butterfly Card

I love this beautiful, beautiful big butterfly from Indigoblu! I wanted to show her off on a large 8 x 8 Kraft  card. I heat embossed her in white on the centre of the left side. I repeated this on some stamping card, and  coloured her with the gleaming Luscious pigment powders before fussy cutting her.

I heat embossed the line of leaves from the Aztec Borders Stamp Set above and below the butterfly, and I  also coloured them with the Lusciois. I adhered the fussy cut butterfly to the right of the first one.

To finish I thought it would be nice to heat emboss the butterfly on the inside of the card. I think the white embossing looks nice against the Kraft Card.

Please visit the Indigoblu blog  to also see some fabulous art from Mike Deakin.

Thank you for visiting me today, I hope you are having time to craft.Lets hope the snow stops soon !

Snowy Feathers

I was thrilled when I had the winning bid on eBay for this darling Indigoblu Robin. I knew my parents would love him so I created this plaque especially for them. For once I was actually pleased on how it turned out, so I decided to use the same idea to make a card. You can read the details about  how I made the card on the Indigoblu blog.

I hope all you Christmas craft creations are going well, thank you so much  for visiting.

Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens

I made this card especially for the current challenge at Fashionable Stamping This months theme is to use the first verse from  "My Favourite things" from The Sound of Music. Of  course ever since reading this I  have been singing that song - luckily for everyone else I have only been singing it in my head!

"Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things"

I thought about what stamps and whatnots I had  to fit in with the theme. I decided to use a Kraft card for the brown paper packages, and tied a raffia ribbon for the string. For the raindrops I used a versamarker pen on a raindrops stencil, and then followed with clear embossing powder. I don't often emboss as I am unable to reach the electric plug, but someone put it on for me today, so I embossed away! I used a cat stamp for whiskers on kittens, and a window outlooking onto a rainy day. I drew a vase and a rose, to encompass the rose in the song.I added a "Happy Rainy Day" sentiment at the bottom.

It is a bit of an unusual card but my Mum is a Sound of Music fan, and she said she would like it!

Mardi Gras

There is a wonderful Blog Challenge called Words to Craft By  Each month they give you a poem to create with. This month the verse is

"It has been said that a Scotchman has not seen the world until he has seen Edinburgh;

and I think that I may say that an American has not seen the United States
until he has seen Mardi-Gras in New Orleans." ─ Mark Twain

I have a friend who plays Dixieland Jazz, and he has visited New Orleans many times. I have the trumpet player stamp just to create cards for him! I added lots of streamers, stars and glitter in the traditional Mardi Gras colours. Unfortunately the photo makes it look paler and less vibrant than it is in real life.

I created this card especially for the Words To Craft By Challenge. Why not stop by and join in the challenge too!

Thank you so much for visiting me today.

Pride and Prejudice

This months theme at Indigoblu is All You Need Is Love.

One of English Literatures most famous romantic writers was Jane Austen. Amongst many other classic novels she of course wrote "Pride and Prejudice".I thought that it would be fitting to pay a her a special tribute, she did give us Mr Darcy after all!

You can read all the details about how I made this tribute on the Indigoblu Blog
