Actually I Can

Hello how are you today? I currently have my right arm in a splint, but I am thinking of ways that I can still craft!

Today I am sharing this very, very heartfelt canvas, which I completed some time ago. I began by drawing a lady in a wheelchair and die cut her. I also die cut the words  “Actually I Can” I used a box canvas and created the background with  Distress Oxides. I also used several Indigoblu Stencils, the rose stencil is one of my very favourites, it is so gorgeous and easy to use! I used  Indigoblu stamps around the edges of the canvas. I stamped some of the larger images  onto copy paper -  tissue paper would have been better, but I did not have any so copy paper had to suffice!  I added some colour to the stamped images, and adhered them to the canvas.

I stamped and fussy cut paintbrushes and pencils from the Indigoblu Art stamps range. I stood some of them up in little glass jars, and added the others as embellishments.

Indigoblu Butterfly Card

I love this beautiful, beautiful big butterfly from Indigoblu! I wanted to show her off on a large 8 x 8 Kraft  card. I heat embossed her in white on the centre of the left side. I repeated this on some stamping card, and  coloured her with the gleaming Luscious pigment powders before fussy cutting her.

I heat embossed the line of leaves from the Aztec Borders Stamp Set above and below the butterfly, and I  also coloured them with the Lusciois. I adhered the fussy cut butterfly to the right of the first one.

To finish I thought it would be nice to heat emboss the butterfly on the inside of the card. I think the white embossing looks nice against the Kraft Card.

I must apologize for not posting very much so far this year, but I have been in hospital. I am feeling much better now and I am happily back to crafting and getting all inky : )

Well February has snuck up on us, and that of course means all things love for Valentines. For my first Indigoblu project this month I decided to decorate these wooden letters, unfortunately I didn’t have a matching ”O” but I found a slightly larger papier mache one. I hope it works.... a few more details as are on the Indigoblu blog.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you are well and having lots of fun crafting. I have lots to catch up on. When I was resting I enjoyed watching all of the Creativation videos, it looks like there is lots of lovely new goodies coming out soon.I have never tried distress oxides, I really must, the new Tim Holtz resist spray looked interesting too. Did you spot anything, you are hoping to try?

Floral Notebook

Hello, and if this is your first time here a very warm welcome to you! I hope you will enjoy your visit, please leave me a comment as I would love to visit your blog too. I hope you have escaped all of the nasty winter bugs going around, I am so looking forward to the spring!
Today I would like to share my Floral Notebook with you, which I created for Indigoblu. Indigoblu make amazing, unique and very high quality rubber stamps which are all manufactured right here in the UK. Their new floral stamps are just gorgeous and are a joy to colour !

This is how I created my notebook.

I removed some pages from an old book, this one happened to be “Wind In The Willows” I tore the pages into large strips, and adhered them  to both sides of the  notebook covers using Super Thick Slap It On.

Using a Versamarker ink pad I stamped the flowers and heat embossed them with brown embossing powder.
After colouring the flowers with Indigoblu paints I fussy cut them.I added some Mulberry Bush (this is my new favourite colour) paint to the edges of the notebook.I used sticky foam pads to adhere the flowers to the cover.I also added some pressed flowers to the cover.

I tied ribbons and twine to the book rings, and then stamped the anemones on the bottom of each of the inside pages.

Deer Globe

Hello how are your Christmas makes going - not long until the big day now.I have been playing with Luscious powders, Indigoblu Winterland Wood Stamp Set and a round spice jar !

I used a glue called “special glue”  it is very thin, and is used for Glass & Plastic Baubles

I poured a small amount into the  spice jar, and rolled it around the back and sides of the jar.

I selected my Luscious colours and placed a small amount on a thin strip of card and shook it into the jar.

I used  the smallest deer from the Winterland Wood Set and stamped him onto card and fussy cut him.

I then spooned some fine texture paste into the cork lid and stood the deer, and some dried flowers into it, and followed with a sprinkling of Unicorn Sparkles.

I addied a finishing touch by plaiting some Raffia and then tied it around the cork lid. Then with great care I pushed the deer into the jar and pushed the cork lid shut.

Thank you for visiting me today, please take a look at the Indigoblu blog to see what other creations the talented team have come up with.

Alice In Her Garden

I am thrilled and honoured to say that lovely Indigoblu invited me to stay on their Design Team for another year. They are all such lovely and talented ladies and gent. They have been very kind and understanding as I have developed another  serious health problem, and I am currently boggled eyed with strong painkillers!

Can you spot a shrunken Alice taking a stroll in her colourful and beautiful garden above?

I painted the inexpensive wooden frame with Grandmas Teacup. When the paint was dry, I dabbed Snow White paint onto the numbers stamp, and I randomly  stamped it around the frame.

For the background, I cut a piece of Watercolour card to fit inside of the frame.I mixed Grandmas Teacup, Iced Gem, and Olive paints with some water to give it the fluidity of Watercolours. I spritzed the paper with water and added the washes of colour. When it was still wet I sprinkled the lovely luscious powders over the top.I also used paint to stamp "Kindness Matters" from the Mindfulness stamp set.

I used paints instead of inks to stamp the flowers over the background.I also stamped some on another piece of card for cutting out.

I used Stazon to stamp Alice and the bees onto shrink plastic, and shrunk them.Alice is of course used to shrinking! I adhered the bees to some twisted wire.

After adhering the background inside of the frame, I added some Coarse texture paste inside the bottom of the frame. It held the flowers both stamped and pressed, bees and of course Alice in place. When dry I painted over the texture paste with Olive paint.

I added  some more flowers to the front of the frame.  I stamped and coloured a beautiful butterfly, and sat her in the top left corner of the frame, where she could  oversee events.

You could also apply these steps to easily create a greeting card instead of a framed picture.

    Blooms

I hope the sun is shining with you today. I have upcycled this little watering can and filled it with beautiful blooms!, butterflies, and bees!

As the watering can had a layer of existing paint, I used sand paper to throughly scratch the existing  paint. This provided a better surface for a layer of Steam Whistle paint to adhere to the metal.

When the paint was drying I stamped 20 flowers from the Victorian  Garden set. I used watercolour pens directly on the stamps so I could add green for the leaves and two coordinating colours for the flowers.I fussy cut the flowers leaving a little tab underneath them. I cut a piece of dry oasis to fit into the watering can, and pushed my flowers into it.

The butterflies and bee stamps are too large in relation to the watering can, so I stamped them onto shrink plastic. After shrinking I coloured them with Luscious which I had mixed with a little bit of water. It gives them a lovely gleam and sparkle!

I adhered the butterflies and bees onto some silver wire which I had curled around a pokey tool to give it more stability. The butterflies and bees happily flew into the flowers and I pushed the wire into the oasis.I also added some dried lavender amongst the flowers, to give a lovely aroma.

I cut a circle out of some chipboard which I recycled from the backing of a  watercolour pad.I adhered the watering can into the middle of the circle, and covered the remaining chipboard in Indigoblu texture paste.

I pushed some wired  bees and dandelions into the texture  paste. When dry I  painted the texture paste with Olive Waistcoat paint.

I hope I have  inspired you to upcycle your treasures using the wonderful Indigoblu stamps. You can see lots more inspiring Ideas created by the fabulous Indigoblu Design Team on the blog.
