Blooms

I hope the sun is shining with you today. I have upcycled this little watering can and filled it with beautiful blooms!, butterflies, and bees!

As the watering can had a layer of existing paint, I used sand paper to throughly scratch the existing  paint. This provided a better surface for a layer of Steam Whistle paint to adhere to the metal.

When the paint was drying I stamped 20 flowers from the Victorian  Garden set. I used watercolour pens directly on the stamps so I could add green for the leaves and two coordinating colours for the flowers.I fussy cut the flowers leaving a little tab underneath them. I cut a piece of dry oasis to fit into the watering can, and pushed my flowers into it.

The butterflies and bee stamps are too large in relation to the watering can, so I stamped them onto shrink plastic. After shrinking I coloured them with Luscious which I had mixed with a little bit of water. It gives them a lovely gleam and sparkle!

I adhered the butterflies and bees onto some silver wire which I had curled around a pokey tool to give it more stability. The butterflies and bees happily flew into the flowers and I pushed the wire into the oasis.I also added some dried lavender amongst the flowers, to give a lovely aroma.

I cut a circle out of some chipboard which I recycled from the backing of a  watercolour pad.I adhered the watering can into the middle of the circle, and covered the remaining chipboard in Indigoblu texture paste.

I pushed some wired  bees and dandelions into the texture  paste. When dry I  painted the texture paste with Olive Waistcoat paint.

I hope I have  inspired you to upcycle your treasures using the wonderful Indigoblu stamps. You can see lots more inspiring Ideas created by the fabulous Indigoblu Design Team on the blog.

Magical Fairy Book

Inside the magical Fairy world!

I used a Tando Creative Mini Printer Tray for my Magical Fairy book. As I was going to use Watercolours,I put a coating of gesso onto the pieces first.

I stamped Lavinia Stamps onto shrink plastic and shrunk them down, so they would be just the right size to sit happily in the printer tray.

The front cover, the fairies are happily sitting in the Enchanted Forest. They are wondering where all the other fairies are.....

The inside front cover.

Here are the fairies!

And the deers, and horses, and don't forget the hare..

Or the unicorn,

I added glass beads on the sides of the book and painted over them with Indigoblu  Iced Gem Paint

Thank you Fairy much for visiting me today xx

Fairy Bubbles

I was wheeling through the forest yesterday and I saw some little bubbles sparkling in the distance.I wonder where they were coming from.....

I added lots of glitter, and glossy accents on the bubbles, not sure if they show up very well in the photo.

I used Lavinia Stamps and Die cuts to create this card and lots of watercolours!

Thank you for visiting today, Fairy Hugs xx

We Are Not Afraid

I make quite a few journal pages, but usually they are  personal and just for me. I did not plan anything for this page, I just took out my London  stamps and my watercolours and created from the heart. London is my home, and after I made this page today I felt I needed to share it.

There Is Always Something New To Discover

Well the summer has finally arrived !  I am celebrating by making a mini book full of flowers, and all things nature . Nature has always been a huge inspiration in my art. This is one of the tags in my mini book and I have also been experimenting with recycling gift cards, so please stop by the Indigoblu blog to see more.

I would like  to thank all of my crafting friends for asking about me after the latest terrorist attacks in London. I am ok, I live about 17 mikes from the recent attacks.

I took this photo of London Bridge at around this  time last year.

Thank You Kindly

I used one of Phyllis Harris's gorgeous stamps for this card. I paper pieced the little girls dress and also mounted it onto the same patterned paper. I love watercolours so of course I used them to create the background and also to colour the lovely characters.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

My Tammy - quick painting

I drew my darling Tammy for a junk journel Challenge on Facebook. I found a photo of Tammy from Christmas 1985 she was holding an empty packet of chocolate fingers, which she must have happily retrieved from somewhere! I remember that we only ever used to have chocolate fingers at Christmas.

I sketched Tammy in pencil and then used my pastels to colour her. I was determined to do this all quickly  as I know I would just keep going until I thought it was good enough, but that would never happen !

I think I may add some words to the picture I am not sure.....

Thank you for visiting .

Tammy

My beloved Golden Retievers name was Tammy, her kennel club name was Tamara Anwen.Tammy was born in Wales and Anwen means very beautiful, which she was. Of course Tammy is also a song famously sung by Debbie Reynolds in the Tammy films.

I printed the music onto some canvas paper and heat embossed some heart balloons and the word Love, in a marbling pink embossing powder. Tammy used to love ballooons and she could hold them in her mouth without bursting them! I edged the paper with pink and brown inks.

Both the Dog and Angel are wooden stamps and must be well over 10 years old! I stamped the wings on vellum and embossed them with white embossing powder, and fussy cut both the wings and doggie.I watercoloured the doggie.

 T

I sat Tammy on some white net and added lots of beads and sequins onto the netting and background.
I adhered a strip of fabric lace at the bottom and rolled up some of the lace to form a flower, and popped a little pink button in the middle.

Thank you so much for visiting.

Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting heaven and earth
It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills, valleys with lush green grass

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this special place
There is always food and water and warm spring weather

The old and frail are young again
Those who are maimed are made whole again

They play all day with each other
There is only one thing missing

They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth
So each day they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and looks up !

The nose twitches !
The ears are up !
The eyes are staring !
And this one suddenly runs from the group !

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her into your arms and embrace
your face is kissed again and again,
and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together,

never again to be separated

I sprayed my Watercolour paper with water and added washes of rainbow colours, letting them bleed into one another to make lovely mixtures.

The dog from the Clumber Park Stamp set was going to be waiting on the bridge, so I stamped him with black ink and fussy cut him

Vellum is a transparent, delicate paper which is perfect for Angel wings.I  stamped  the butterfly from the Victorian garden set onto it, and cut out two wings from the butterfly.I coated the wings with clear glitter.

I adhered the wings to the back of the doggie and used 3D sticky pads to adhere him to the picture

The Mindfullness Stamp set has a perfect "Angels are watching over you" sentiment included which I stamped under the dog.
