Yesterday at Ally Pally

I almost did not go to Ally Pally as I wasn't very well in the night, but I was determined! It was a wonderful  day and turned out to be a lovely sunny day here in London too!

I had a lovely time watching Tracey of Lavinia Stamps  demonstrating her gorgeous stamps. It was so nice chatting to her about all things fairy and magic! It's nice to escape into a magical world far away from reality sometimes : ) I treated myself to a few more stamps!

Look at the gorgeous work of the Design Team!!

I also met Barbara Gray from Clarity Stamps who was so lovely.

She even gave me this picture she had just made in her demo! Thank you!

I eventually found the wonderful Indigoblu! I am annoyed with myself as I did not take a photo of Kay's wonderful face canvases. I was too busy admiring them ! Be sure to stop by the Indigoblu's Facebook page as there are very, very generous competitions happening !

Different

Whenever I am creating a little crafty project, I can't seem to help making up a story to go with it! So I am delighted that this month the Design
Team at Indigoblu  have been asked to create a story!

Different

There once was a lovely young lady, who was a little different from all of the other girls her age.She was kind and thoughtful, but she just didn't seem to fit in.

One sunny spring afternoon she was sitting alone in the forest, trying very hard not to weep. When suddenly.... she heard a twinkling sound. She looked up, but at first she couldn't see anything making the magical sound. Then she turned her head a little to the right, and smiling over at her was the most beautiful Unicorn! She rubbed her eyes in disbelief, but he really was real !

"Hello" he said in a friendly Unicorn sort of a way. "Could you please help me " asked the Unicorn "I think I am lost, and I can't see any other Unicorns around."I am feeling a bit scared a.n.d...well lonely"

"Where do you want to go ?" asked the young lady smiling.

"I'm not sure" replied the Unicorn "Somewhere I won't feel different I just want to fit in, and be loved" replied the Unicorn.

The young lady wheeled over to the Unicorn and reached up and wrapped her arms around him.She held him as tightly as she could and the Unicorn sighed a deep and happy sigh.

"You can come home with me"she whispered, "I will love you forever, and look after you."

"And I you." replied the Unicorn.

If you ever see a trail of sparkles anywhere you can be sure the young lady and her Unicorn were there!

Little House On The Prairie

Earlier this year I was very lucky and won the challenge at Fashionable Stamping. My wonderful prize was a voucher for Flonzcraft, so of course I immediately browsed their stamps. They have some very lovely and unique stamps. As soon as I saw this girl stamp I immediately thought of Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie! It is one of mine and my Mother's favourite tv shows, so I  just  had to choose her, and then of course I needed the wagon to go with her too!

I decided to make a bendi card, it was fairly easy to make, if you have never made one you should give it a try! On the bottom level I added some layers of raffia.on the higher level I added some texture paste which I later painted. I watercoloured a background. After stamping the images with black Archival ink, I coloured them with watercolours. I fussy cut the lovely images and adhered them to the card. I stamped some leaves and cut them out, and added them to the scene.

I think it looks a little like a scene from Little House, it is going to be my Mothers Easter card.

Thank you for visiting today.

Christopher Robin

Christopher Robin, Pooh, and Piglet are enjoying the Spring sunshine in Ashdown Forest. I removed  a page from  my "The World Of Christopher Robin" book, and adhered it to a small canvas. The branches wer ecreated with texture paste and detailed with paint.
After stamping  this lovely Pooh swing stamp I coloured and  fussy cut them. I hung the Happy group from the branches festooned with die cut blossoms.

Thank you for visiting us in Ashdown Forest today.

I created this page for the challenges below

Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge Books

I was very lucky to have received this recently from Frilly and Funkie

I also had a lovely surprise this week, when a project was returned to me from Making Cards, and I received these lovely goodies below, totally unexpected! Many thanks to Sally Jarvis.

Hanging Spring Egg

As Spring is finally here, we start to think about decorating our homes with flowers, and Easter decorations.

I covered the Papier Mache egg with a coating of Gesso. When dry I painted the outside of the egg in Grandmas Teacup.

The inside needs some colour too, so I added some Grandmas Teacup to the top and Peppermint tea paint on the bottom.

I flicked some white paint on the outside of the egg, to add some speckling

I stamped the images with an Archival Black ink pad, and then cut them out.

Some real twigs from the forest became a spring tree. I added some pink Flowersoft to the branches to look like lovely cherry blossom. I put a good covering of texture paste inside the base of the egg.

I fixed the tree, deers, and rabbits into the texture paste.

When the paste was dry, I coated it with some pva glue, and sprinkled some green Flowersoft inside for grass.
