Happy Alice In Wonderland Day

HAPPY ALICE DAY !

To celebrate the day I have made this Mad Hatters Top hat, and decorated it with all wonderful things Alice.

I used numerous stamps and added colour with Watercolours, and fussy cut them all.

I also used some mini playing cards, and painted chipboard pieces.
I did lots of tricky and challenging gluing so everything would stand up in place.

I wanted the hat to look Wonderland wonderful from every side.
I made roses from vintage Alice book pages.
I also added dried flowers and moss to enhance her Wonderland garden.

It was a lot of fun to create my Mad Hatters Hat. it is impossible to list all of the items I used, but some of them are
Chipboard top Hat is from Tando Creative.
Alice sitting stamp is from Dolly Dimples
The White Rabbit and King of Hearts stamps are by Crafty Secrets.
The sentiment is by Carabelle Studio
The jugs etc are by Artful Days they had an Alice themed monthly box last year.

Alice In Wonderland Challenge

Every Year in the UK there is an Alice In Wonderland Day, this year it is on the 7th of July. I thought it would be Wonderful to have an Alice Crafting Celebration! There are so very many talented crafters/ designers who I know also love Alice. So I hope we can have fun and fill our blogs with Alice! There are so many different inspirations for Alice - tea party, roses, playing card, hearts, hares, rabbits..

I have a dedicated Alice page with more info here. It is all for fun, with some Alice themed goodies  (see below) for a random Alice friend to win.

I created my “Alice Falling Down A Rabbit Hole” by strongly persuading some bark to wrap around a circular wooden piece! The Alice stamp is by Artistic Stamper but I am not sure if it is still available to buy. I coloured her dress and stockings blue so I hope it meets their paint it blue challenge. I used invisible thread to dangle a key, hearts, clubs, spades and other Alice whatnots down into the rabbit hole.I would also like to enter Cut It Up Anything But A Card and We love to Create Mixed Media

Thank you so much for visiting xx

Gothic Arch Challenge

For the last few months I have been taking part in the Gothic Arch Challenge  at UK Stampers. Gothic Arch refers to the shape it does not have to be gothicky (thank goodness)This months theme is “in stitches” I wondered what I would create, so I looked through my old wooden stamps, and came across these treasures. A lovely teddy and bunny with stitches on them. I decided as they had been packed away for such a long time, they needed a good wash so I washed them and hung them on the washing line to drip and dry!

I used glossy accents to add drips of water falling from the furry friends. They are quite difficult to see in the photo but there lots of them there.I used green flowersoft on the branches, and also added some faux stitches around the edges.

The foam stamps are coming away from the wood, so I am undecided if I should remove them from the wood to save space or glue them back on...

I would also like to enter my In Stiches  Gothic Arch into That’s Crafty Stitch In Time Challenge

Thank you so much for visiting me today, I hope all is going well with you xx
