Playing in the Autumn leaves

As Autumn arrives I feel very fortunate to live with a forest just at the bottom of our avenue. The leaves are starting to turn a multitude of browns, reds, and yellows. Due to the pandemic we have spent more time than ever visiting the forest, and I have started to keep a nature journal. I’ve gone back to childhood activities such as bark rubbing! So hoping things will improve next year…

With Autumn in mind, I have created this card for a swap. I used watercolours for the background, and also to add colour to the characters one of whom has jumped head first into the leaves!

I added some autumnal texture by using  sprinklets in both gold and copper.

I die cut a lot of leaves and gave them a wash of watercolour. I have some left over for my nature journal too. Tracy Easson’s girl stamp has her arm by her side so I stamped it again and snipped it off (sorry hope it didn’t hurt) to place it as if she was raising it up in the air holding the leaf.

Thank you for visiting, stay safe xx

A Red Squirrel Visitor

Hello, I hope all is well with you today, we are lucky to still be having some sunny days here. I have missed  going to the local forest this year, especially now as Autumn will soon be arriving. Sadly the second wave of Covid has already started so I continue to stay home, as I have since March.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a Red Squirrel as they are sadly so rare in the UK now. My sister sees them in the Lake District, but we don’t have any in London. Nether the less I have one visiting me today by the magic of crafting. I had a lot of fun making him, and giving him a lovely bushy tail. I have jotted down a few details on how I made this Autumn Tag on the Calico Craft Parts Blog. I hope you can visit.

Please stay safe, this virus is sadly not going away any time soon. Look after yourselves.

Thank you for visiting, hugs xx

Drifting Into Autumn

It seems my hopes for an Indian summer are well and truly over, as we find ourselves drifting into Autumn.October is full of crisp golden leaves fluttering from the trees, so I decided to try and recreate that scene for my  Indigoblu project this month. I recycled some items, and foraged Mother Nature for other Autumn treasures.

A step by step tutorial is on the Indigoblu blog.

Thank you so much for visiting, and happy Autumn !
