Dandelion Fairies

These two lovely Fairies are overlooking their field of dandelions. At midnight thousands of fairies emerge from the dandelions and twinkle and sparkle as they flitter  around. Some of them fly away and grant wishes for special, people, while others stay in the field and play and create magic.

A sideways view of the card, the wings fold inwards so it fits in the envelope!

I watercoloured the background and stamped and heat embossed the dandelions and the lovely sentiment.

Thank you Fairy much for visiting us today.

Lavender Fields

This Majestic Deer stands proudly in his field of Lavender. He also loves to sleep in the Lavender field too as it soothes him to sleep.

I created  the background with water colours, and stamped the Lavender with two colours of Adirondack inks. I have heard a lot of good things about the new Distress Oxides so I am thinking about trying them out! I fussy cut some of the Lavender flowers and adhered them with foam pads to give some depth to the picture.

I hope you are all enjoying the summertime and all of the glorious flowers in bloom at this lovely time of year.

Thank you for stopping by xx

Lake District Card

It's my sister's birthday at the end of this month, so of course I wanted to make her a special card. For the last 30 years or more she has taken two walking holidays in the Lake District every year. So when I saw Crafty Individuals new stamps of a church, and country cottage, I thought they would be perfect to create a Lake District type of scene in a  3 D  card.

I stamped the  images, and coloured them with my very favourite medium which is of course Watercolours! I also die cut trees, branches etc and watercoloured them too.

This is the card folded down ready  to fit in the envelope.

I think she will like it, at least I hope she does!

Thank you for visiting today xx

Die Cut Essentials Magazine

I picked up Die  Cut Essentials today, and they have kindly included my bendi card, which I made with the Freshwater Die set, and stamps. As usual I created the background with watercolours, I love watercolours!

This is a lovely lake close to where I live. Let's hope the sunny weather continues...

If you have a Hobbycraft store near you they are selling 5 x 7 cards at half price, they have a few other bits of pieces in their clearance section  but you need to delve in to search for them! They seem to sell more toys than craft products now and hardly any stamps or accessories at all!

Thank you for visiting xx

    Blooms

I hope the sun is shining with you today. I have upcycled this little watering can and filled it with beautiful blooms!, butterflies, and bees!

As the watering can had a layer of existing paint, I used sand paper to throughly scratch the existing  paint. This provided a better surface for a layer of Steam Whistle paint to adhere to the metal.

When the paint was drying I stamped 20 flowers from the Victorian  Garden set. I used watercolour pens directly on the stamps so I could add green for the leaves and two coordinating colours for the flowers.I fussy cut the flowers leaving a little tab underneath them. I cut a piece of dry oasis to fit into the watering can, and pushed my flowers into it.

The butterflies and bee stamps are too large in relation to the watering can, so I stamped them onto shrink plastic. After shrinking I coloured them with Luscious which I had mixed with a little bit of water. It gives them a lovely gleam and sparkle!

I adhered the butterflies and bees onto some silver wire which I had curled around a pokey tool to give it more stability. The butterflies and bees happily flew into the flowers and I pushed the wire into the oasis.I also added some dried lavender amongst the flowers, to give a lovely aroma.

I cut a circle out of some chipboard which I recycled from the backing of a  watercolour pad.I adhered the watering can into the middle of the circle, and covered the remaining chipboard in Indigoblu texture paste.

I pushed some wired  bees and dandelions into the texture  paste. When dry I  painted the texture paste with Olive Waistcoat paint.

I hope I have  inspired you to upcycle your treasures using the wonderful Indigoblu stamps. You can see lots more inspiring Ideas created by the fabulous Indigoblu Design Team on the blog.

    Magical Fairy Book

    Inside the magical Fairy world!

I used a Tando Creative Mini Printer Tray for my Magical Fairy book. As I was going to use Watercolours,I put a coating of gesso onto the pieces first.

I stamped Lavinia Stamps onto shrink plastic and shrunk them down, so they would be just the right size to sit happily in the printer tray.

The front cover, the fairies are happily sitting in the Enchanted Forest. They are wondering where all the other fairies are.....

    The inside front cover.

    Here are the fairies!

And the deers, and horses, and don't forget the hare..

    Or the unicorn,

I added glass beads on the sides of the book and painted over them with Indigoblu  Iced Gem Paint

    Fairy Bubbles

I was wheeling through the forest yesterday and I saw some little bubbles sparkling in the distance.I wonder where they were coming from.....

I added lots of glitter, and glossy accents on the bubbles, not sure if they show up very well in the photo.

I used Lavinia Stamps and Die cuts to create this card and lots of watercolours!

Thank you for visiting today, Fairy Hugs xx
