Fairy Bells

Hello, thank you for stopping by. We are enjoying lovely sunny weather at the moment, and it is about time after weeks of rain.

Today I am being visited by this lovely Fairy, who is enjoying the magical sounds from the fairy bells. The background, fairy and flowers are all water coloured. There is lots of glitter, on the wings, but of course it does not show up in the photo.

I created this for a Facebook challenge, but I am also entering it into the following blog challenges.

Inspiration Station  the picture of the music score reminds me of the impromptu music created from wind chimes.

Thank you for visiting and stay safe, sadly cases are increasing again xx

Dance with Joy

Hello and thank you for stopping by. I hope you are doing ok, it looks as if the virus numbers and sad deaths may be starting to come down which is very good news! More and more of those of us who are vulnerable are being vaccinated, which is all very good news. So maybe just  maybe there is a little light at the end of this very dark long tunnel.

I have made yet another card using this lovely pink ink designs fairy Stamp. This time I drew a little dancing Teddy bear in her hand. I stamped and coloured some flowers, and leaves and fussy cut them to add around the edge of the picture. Pink Ink had a Facebook challenge to use lead pencil to colour your stamped images, I enjoyed giving this a try, and went on to create several more cards in the same vein.

Fairy Flowers

Hello, I hope all is well with you. I’m continuing to stay home apart from attending medical appointments. It is very worrying times isn’t it. Thank goodness for crafting, it has always helped me with my health and disability problems, and it is keeping me going now.

I was thrilled to see that Chocolate Baroque are running a new challenge, they have taken over from the Penny Black Challenge. This months challenge theme is Wings.I have a lovely hanging flowers CB stamp, so I decided to use it along with a gorgeous fairy stamp and butterflies. I used my favourite watercolours, and lots of glitter for my card. Glitter just never seems to show in photos, no matter what contortions you do!

Thank you so much for visiting, and please stay safe xx

There are always flowers

Hoping you are doing ok, during this horrible time in our world, sending many hugs to you if you need some.
I am trying to keep busy crafting. My favourite medium is watercolours so I am sharing another water coloured card with a lovely quote on it. The little girl and the quote came together in the same stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by, please  leave a comment so I can return the visit.

Take care and stay safe xx

Courage Dear Heart

What can I say, we are all fearful at the moment, and those of us who are ill and disabled are even more so. I was originally going to make an Easter Wreath  for Calico Craft Parts this month, but I quickly decided we all needed a little encouragement, so I created this plaque. Please visit Calico Craft Parts to discover more.

I am now quarantined at home for my safety, with all the consequential difficulties. But we will get through.

All we can do is to continue to hope, and do everything we are asked to do by our Government.

Hugs xxx

Hang In There Art Journal Cover

Hello how are you today, well I hope. I have nearly completed my latest art journal, this is my first one made by Jane Davenport. I love all  of her products, although I don’t have many. I didn’t cover my book before I started and of course I soon realised it was getting  very inky, painty spalshy!

Here is the messy cover!

I don’t have much space to keep my journals, and I knew it would need to be squashed in somewhere so the cover had to be one flat layer only. I began by applying two coats of gesso.  I used a Daler Rowney gesso as it was on offer in Hobbycraft, and it works very well even though it is a bit thinner than some of them.  I dabbed on some blue and pink acrylic paints with a sponge.I love the girl on a swing stencil by Clarity Stamps, which I used  with some black paint. I heat embossed all of the flowers which are by Lavinia Stamps. The art in my journal represents my struggles so I thought the “Hang In There” sentiment from a Phyliss Harris Stamp kit was very fitting!

Thank you for stopping by, and hang in there friends!

Love Letters

I must apologize for not posting very much so far this year, but I have been in hospital. I am feeling much better now and I am happily back to crafting and getting all inky : )

Well February has snuck up on us, and that of course means all things love for Valentines. For my first Indigoblu project this month I decided to decorate these wooden letters, unfortunately I didn’t have a matching ”O” but I found a slightly larger papier mache one. I hope it works.... a few more details as are on the Indigoblu blog.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you are well and having lots of fun crafting. I have lots to catch up on. When I was resting I enjoyed watching all of the Creativation videos, it looks like there is lots of lovely new goodies coming out soon.I have never tried distress oxides, I really must, the new Tim Holtz resist spray looked interesting too. Did you spot anything, you are hoping to try?

I think I am getting the hang of the followers button thingy now, and I am happily following lots of blogs. Thank you and a very warm welcome if you have become a follower, I hope that you will enjoy your visits. Please leave me a comment as I would love to visit your blog too xx

Floral Notebook

Hello, and if this is your first time here a very warm welcome to you! I hope you will enjoy your visit, please leave me a comment as I would love to visit your blog too. I hope you have escaped all of the nasty winter bugs going around, I am so looking forward to the spring!
Today I would like to share my Floral Notebook with you, which I created for Indigoblu. Indigoblu make amazing, unique and very high quality rubber stamps which are all manufactured right here in the UK. Their new floral stamps are just gorgeous and are a joy to colour !

This is how I created my notebook.

I removed some pages from an old book, this one happened to be “Wind In The Willows” I tore the pages into large strips, and adhered them  to both sides of the  notebook covers using Super Thick Slap It On.

Using a Versamarker ink pad I stamped the flowers and heat embossed them with brown embossing powder.
After colouring the flowers with Indigoblu paints I fussy cut them.I added some Mulberry Bush (this is my new favourite colour) paint to the edges of the notebook.I used sticky foam pads to adhere the flowers to the cover.I also added some pressed flowers to the cover.

I tied ribbons and twine to the book rings, and then stamped the anemones on the bottom of each of the inside pages.

Magic is Something You Make

For the canvas I used a chipboard backing from a paper pad and coated it with gesso.

I glued layers of tissue paper on the top part of the canvas. When dry I used watercolours on top of the tissue and then stamped the sentiment. The remaining canvas was coloured with dye inks and splattered with watercolours.

I made the flowers with strips of fabric which I rolled around and around into a circle. Some twisted green net became its leaves.

I finished by adding a little sparkle and some cross stitches in a silver thread.

Thank you for visiting.

Please take a look at all the fabulous projects from the Mixed Media Design Team we have a fabulous guest Designer this month Ingrid. I hope you will join in with the challenge this month, have fun!
