A Snowy Stroll To Church

Earlier this year I made my sister a Lake District 3D card for her birthday. She loved it and asked me if
I would make a similar Christmas one for a friend. I have been busy creating it for the last few days, the stamps are by Crafty Individuals, and Clarity Stamps.
So I have started my Christmas crafts for this year, which of course means glitter absolutely everywhere! How are your Christmas /Winter crafts coming along?

A view from above

The card folded all ready for its envelope.

I have medical appointments this week, I seem to think up most of my crafty ideas staring at waiting room floors !

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges.

An Autumn Wave

Aloysius is happily waving at you through the tumbling Autumn leaves, I hope you are waving back!

I stamped the gorgeous Aloysius and then drew him an arm as he wanted to wave at you. I gave him some colour, and then fussy cut him.I was very careful not to nip him.

To make a small exploding canvas, I painted the inside back of the box canvas, I used Indigoblu paints in Hot Cocoa and Leather Corset and I also added some Penny dreadful luscious to give an Autumn gleam.

I Used Warm Tan To paint  the front of the canvas and when the paint was still wet

I crumpled up some copy paper and pressed it onto the paint. It left  lovely texture from the creases.

I cut the middle section of the canvas into four diagonally.

I then created a background for Aloysious using the same texture technique as before.I repeated this process again on another sheet of card to create my leaves from.

I die cut numerous leaves from the  painted card and after crumpling them up, I added flitterglu and Chocolate Box megaflakes  to make them truly shine.

Aloysius made himself comfortable on the background card, and I added some leaves  around him.

Next I adhered each of the four flaps to the front of the frame and proceeded to decorate the frame with lots of leaves, small pine cones, and twigs.

I adhered the background to the back of the frame.

A sentiment or message could be stamped onto card and then cut out and added onto the canvas. If you do not have leaf dies or punches you could draw and then cut out the leaves.

Nemesis

I am not sure I can call this an art journal page, as it is not actually in a journal as my journal is full! So  I will just call it a mixed media page! I have just purchased a Jane Davenport journal with watercolour pages, so I am looking forward to that arriving.

I started by browsing images of Nemesis, and then drew a very rough sketch.I used Watercolours to add some quick colour, and added megaflakes to the sword and scales of justice.

I stamped and heat embossed various branches on my background paper. I then used a wooden window stamp and stamped it twice. I should use my wooden stamps more often than I do. I have them all in a art bin and I don’t retrieve them very often.

I then Die Cut  lots of  leaves, and also coloured them with watercolours and added a dash of gold and copper megaflakes here and there to add some Autumn shine.i adhered them to the picture along with some natural elements from nature.

Thank you for visiting today, and many thanks, for all of the kind and supportive messages I have been receiving xx

I would like to share Nemesis with the following challenges.

Drifting Into Autumn

It seems my hopes for an Indian summer are well and truly over, as we find ourselves drifting into Autumn.October is full of crisp golden leaves fluttering from the trees, so I decided to try and recreate that scene for my  Indigoblu project this month. I recycled some items, and foraged Mother Nature for other Autumn treasures.

A step by step tutorial is on the Indigoblu blog.

Thank you so much for visiting, and happy Autumn !
